Summer has arrived just in time for autumn.
For a second straight day, temperatures have risen into the upper 90s across much of Orange County high pressure lingers over the West Coast, the National Weather Service says. In most areas, temperatures are 10-15 degrees above normal. And, for a change, there’s no relief at the beach. The sea breeze is virtually non-existent for the second consecutive day, a rarity.
The weather service said on Sunday that the region would get cooler on Monday and Tuesday. Passing thunderstorms kept things cool Monday. But temperatures soared on Tuesday, with Fullerton Airport hitting 102 degrees, breaking the airport’s previous record for Sept. 30 by two degrees. The record was set in 1980. Santa Ana hit 101 degrees, which was 2 degrees higher than the record for that date, set in 1952. Temperatures were pushed up by the high pressure and a weak offshore flow. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, it was 85 degrees in Seal Beach and 84 at Avalon Harbor on Santa Catalina Island.
Forecasters say temperatures should moderate on Thursday, but the heat might return early next week. There are no Santa Ana winds in the short of long-range forecast.

I sure hope people are not buying into this heat as global warming? I remember being a student in Jr and Sr high school, and having P.E. and it being hotter that hades! Sept and Oct always tend to be warm.
Check out

to see how the grid is coping.
Chad…see above. Yes it is usually hot in September and October but these temps are 10-15 degrees above normal. Although it but may not be illustrated by this heat wave, Global Warming is a fact Chad. The question is to the degree that it is caused by mankind.
Global warming is misleading! We are just between Ice Ages. The earth must heat up, melting the glaciers, which will throw the Earth off of its axis. The shift will move us away from the sun and into the next Ice Age.
I had a job one time in Woodland Hills (long commute from Fullerton) and I feel lucky we don’t live in the Valley where it is always cooking hot. It is interesting how much variation there is even within LA/OC. Microclimates play a role but the microclimates don’t seem to be as much talked about as the regional weather patterns.
It is called a heat wave! Yes, the temps are 10-15 degrees above normal, but this is not an everyday occurrence. It is a heat wave.
Good Grief.
Global Warning is not fact!
I have been able to trace the cause of Global Warming to the advent of the Internet Server Farms. As you know, Al Gore invented the Internet.
I’m just testing but this is a nice blog.
There is only one complete and exact computer of global climate and that is the planet itself. By definition it complies with all laws of nature including physics and quantum mechanics. Einstein said “no number of tests can prove I’m right but only one is needed to prove I’m wrong”. There have been many tests that prove to be wrong the theory that added atmospheric carbon dioxide causes significant global warming. They were run on the planet computer and the results are archived in the Vostok and EPICA ice cores and other proxies. They show that, repeatedly, a temperature increasing trend changed to a decreasing trend and vice versa. For those who understand how feedback works, this temperature trend direction change proves that there is no significant net positive feedback. All that is needed to determine if there is net positive feedback is a temperature trace for a long enough time to average out cyclic variation from random noise and other factors, ENSO, etc. The temperature trace does not even need to be correct in absolute terms just reasonably accurate in relative terms time-wise.
While determination of the magnitude and even the sign of feedback in climate is difficult using climatology, it is trivial, as described above, for someone who understands feedback to deduce from the temperature record that significant net positive feedback does not exist. Many climatologists apparently don’t know how feedback works so they don’t realize this. Unaware of their ignorance, they impose significant net positive feedback in their GCMs which causes them to predict substantial warming from carbon dioxide increase. Without significant net positive feedback, the GCMs do not predict significant Global Warming.
I hate it….I hate it….I hate this freekin’ miserable hot weather!
When it gets over 90…I stay inside with the A/C on 72 degrees.I don’t feel like going outside,to the gym, shopping,or even a evening walk because it is 82 degrees at 7:30 p.m.The morning sun is BLAZING hot at 9:30 a.m….The more I wish and pray for cooler comfortable weather …another weeklong blistering heatwave comes along!!! I mean seriously!!! It will be Thanksgiving soon & Christmas!!! I truly HATE the HOT miserable stinking weather…I’m going to move from this crap to another less crowded and nicer climate!!!!
