Watch crescent moon bracket planets this week

Register photographer Mark Rightmire took this handsome image of a crescent moon offset by the planets Jupiter and Venus. You’ll be able to see the site again early Tuesday and Wednesday evening over the southwest horizon. Sciencedude is vacationing in Honolulu at the moment. But I’m enjoying the night skies. Feel free to send me images. I may post them.

I awoke here in Waikiki this morning to find a couple of pretty moon images sent overnight by readers. The first one is from Cyndie Ward in Plano, Texas.
