HERE COMES THE SUN: Charles Beal photographed sunrise in the Santa Ana Mountains.
November will begin as October ended — far warmer than normal. The National Weather Service forecast that today’s inland highs would reach 85 while the coast clocked in at 75. Those figures have already been exceeded, partly due to a dry, offshore flow in some areas. There’s also virtually no sea breeze at the coast. Forecasters say Monday will be just as hot, if not hotter. Temperatures aren’t expected to return to seasonal levels until Thursday. There is no rain in the seven day forecast. Sunset will be at 4:58 p.m. today.
Here’s a sample of temperatures through 3:30 p.m. today:
NEW: Algae bloom causing foul smell in Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita
Also on Sciencedude …
Great I can do the laundry and hang it out on the line to dry.

Mary: The San Bernardnino Mountains.
Nopropaganda: Yes
Either the San Gorgonio Mountains, Big Bear Mountains or Wrightwood.
california surely is a beautiful place.
I love: It will rain on Nov. 23rd at 2:11 p.m.
Tahoeid: Don’t call me Shirley.
When will it rain again?
it’s 70 in HB…
It was perfect weather for trick or treating last night…we can handle a few days of heat, but let’s get the nice, crisp fall weather here soon!
that Gary, he sure has a sense of humor
Geez, it’s hot! Two more years to retirement and I can relocate to where there are four seasons. Having just 1 season (summer) here all year around just gets intolerable after awhile. Enjoy to those that like this.
Yeah I really miss shoveling snow and the 13 whole days of pretty fall leaves that we enjoyed on the East Coast. Then it was straight to winter. Then we had about 12 days of spring and then sraight to hot and humid…yeah I like CA…I’ll never complain again!
Prayin for cool, crisp weather. I, too, am tired of hot weather.
You sure Gary? My friend just said Nov. 25 at 5:45 pm.
gosh……I moved from the OC to Northeast Texas and it’s cold here…..beautiful too……
As one reader pointed out if you’re in Riverside, the mountains to the north are San Bernardino with Mt. San Grogonio the highest in that range at over 11,000 ft. but it has a flat top so does not stand out so much….but to the east from Riverside should be Mt, San Jacinto towering over Palm Springs…also over 11,000 ft. Should have been able to it all today….a nice place to visit is the state park off of the 91 that has some the last remaining orange groves in SoCal. Nice views from there…
It was really clear today…no sea breeze here at the coast and no Santa Ana winds so an absolutely delightful day all around.
Why is Santa Ana always hotter than other cities? Is it the placement of the thermometer?
AHHH…what happened to Winter? Are we EVER going to see some rain?
And DON’T call me shirley…:)
Shirley this can’t have anything to do with climate change?
