The winds have picked up and are pushing cool, moist area ashore, creating patchy coastal fog that’s expected to last into early Tuesday morning, when many people are beginning their commute to work, says the National Weather Service. The fog will largely be confined to within a mile of the coast and should burn off by 8 a.m. Daytime temperatures will rise into the upper 70s or low 80s inland — a big above normal, say forecasters. The weather will begin to cool on Wednesday, and the weather service says there’s a 20 percent chance of light showers on Thursday.
